PERCEPTION: AN ONGOING BODY OF WORK EXPLORING FEMININE ARCHETYPES
SELECTED COMMISSIONED WORK
My grandmother put an oversized t-shirt over my head and a paintbrush in my hand when I was 3, and sat me in front of an easel with a rainbow of tempera paints at my disposal. Since then, I have been an obsessive mark-maker.
I work with acrylics and watercolors to explore emotionally charged concepts. What began as something I did when I struggled to find words as a child now serves to open conversation on difficult topics such as sex and death. My work is grounded in realism while allowing space to depart from reality in subtle or overt ways, as is needed.
